Monday
Day 1: Today was my birthday and the first time I had done Splash! We first went to University Collage of London, Institute of Archaeology and listened to a lecture about Maritine Archaeology and PIRATES with Joe. Joe is a lecturer on Maritime Archaeology at UCL. After the lecture our group went to the British Museum where we looked at the Sutton Hoo ship burial. We then went to LAARC the Museum of London's archive. In LAARC we learnt about the Thames survey and handled objects from the River Thames that were from the foreshore (area of land that is visible when river tide goes out).
Tuesday
Day 2: Our group met at UCL and got on the coach to dive for the first time. When our group got to the London School of Diving we had a quick lecture about saftey rules in the pool, then the group was split up into buddy pairs. When it was our turn in the pool it was great! Our safety skills in the pool were clearing our mask and finding our regulator (breathing apparatus).
Wednesday
Day 3: Today we went to Portsmouth to a Napoleonic Fort!! We met people from the Nautical Archaeological society who showed us a video about shipwrecks. We had to guess what some objects were and what they were used for on the ships - hard but fun! Then we learnt how to measure or survey - off-setting and trilateration - I found it interesting and kinda hard too. We were going to do this in the water on Thursday! We also looked at cannons and a mock-up of a sea bed.
Thursday
Day 4: We put everything that we had learnt together today. We did the measuring underwater this time - harder than on land because the tape kept on moving about! I thought this was fun and it was good. Afterwards to sketched underwater this was hard but good fun.
Friday
Day 5: I dictated this to my secretary and made a video pod cast!!

Day 1: We had a lecture at the Univercity Collage of London Archeology on the real Pirates. After that we went to The British Musium to go and see the remains from the Sutton Hoo. We then just wandered around the Musium looking at dead things. After lunch we went to LAARK to look at different things that are found in the water! We handeled them and worked out in groups what materials they were and what they were used for.
Day 2, Tuesday: Was far more interesting and fun than Monday. We went to the London School Of Diving. We had a saftey talk about the dangers of diving and what to do so as to keep ourselfs from dying in the water. They scared us to a near early death when telling us about how our lungs could expload if we held our breth while going to the surface of the water. We then split up into groups and went into the pool in the scuba diving gear. We learnt the skills like how to equilise, clean your masks and get water out of them and how clear your regulatorand also how to use the rest of the kit.
Day 3 Wednesday: We had to get up so early for no apparent reson to get on the coach to go to Portsmouth. The coach didn't turn up at the early time so we had to sit around for ages. We then were on the coach for about three hours on the way to Fort Cumberland. When we finnaly got there we went outside so we didn't fall asleep. Back inside we watched a slide show of wrecks and different things to do with underwater archiology. We then learnt how to measure the distance between objects underwater.
Day 4, Thursday: We went back to the London School Of Diving and practised how to measure the stuff under the water in pairs. We had to record and scetch the things under the water which I thought was impossibe.
Day 5, Friday: And today im writing this blog, you'd never guess.

Dau 1: I absoloutley LOVED this week on Splash, its all s fun. On monday we went to the Instustute of Archeoligy and we were given ad introduction about Maritime archeoligy. You may think that it was boring to listen to a man speak for 40 minutes but actually it was quite fun he had a good sense of humor then he took us to the British Museum and he showed us a very important find which was the Sutton Hoo.Then we took a coach to Laark in east London which is a musuem of Londons arkive, we had to sort glass from clay from rocks and so on.
Day 2: On tuesday we got to have our first go at scuba diving it was a great experiance, we had to learn all the basics. You may think that scuba diving is a very easy sport youre kind of wrong because you could go death or even die.
Day 3: On Wendesday we all got to the meeting point on time for the first time and on that day the only thing that was late was our coach which we had to wait for, for half an hour finally it actually came. We all got on the coach but suddenly we got stuck in traffic and it took us 4 hours to get to get to Fort Cumberland which was in Portsouth. As soon as we got there we had lunch the we had an introducton and then some practical (just a bit).We got to actually experiance a real live shipwreck then it was finally time to go.
Day 4: Finally, Thusday was the day me and Lizzie my partner got to do some measuring under water in the deep end in the pool we actually got to finish which im so happy with.
Day 5: Today im just making a podcast in clc.

Monday
On the first day we had a 40 minute talk about Maritime Archaeology. Then shortly afterwards we went to the British Museum and looked at the Sutton Hoo ship burial and amphorae (Greek pots). Then we were allowed to go round by ourselves.
Shortly after lunch we went by coach to LAARC, the Museum of London's archive, where we sorted out artifacts of things found in the Thames.
Tuesday
We went to the London School of Diving and had our first scuba diving lesson which was very exciting, I enjoyed it very much the only thing that I couldn't do is go down 3.2 metres which was upseting but I couldn't help it.
Wednesday
We went on a 3 hour drive to Portsmouth which was annoying but once we got there it was ok we had objects handed out to us and had to guess what the objects were. Then we learnt how to measure, we saw a mock sea bed which was good then we went to the cannons and learnt about them.
Thursday
It was our second scuba diving lesson which was again very exciting, we got to do everything by ourselves and work in buddys. Which was good Isha and I were a very good team, we managed to finish our work which was good. Then at the end I got go down to the bottom and I made it - I felt really good.
Friday
Here I am today finishing my blog at the CLC and doing a video pod cast.

During this week Splash took us to a number of places and this is what we did:
Monday we went into the Institute of Archaeology to have a lecture on what is maritime archaeology, and then we walked to the British Museum and looked at the remains of the Sutten Hoo ship burial. After the museum we went to the LAARC (Museum of London's archive) and learnt about the Thames and did object handling, and after we went home.
Tuesday was a very exciting day because it was our first driving experience at the London School of Driving. We had a safety talk to help in the pool and the number 1 rule in driving is always breathe when you are going up and down in the water, or you'll burst your lungs. But no one had any trouble with that! When I got into the pool we first learnt how to clear our mask, clear your regulator (our breathing apparatus), find our regulator if lost and finally how to equalise (pop our ears).
Wednesday was a very draining day, because we went to Portsmouth and our coach was an hour late and everyone was very tired! When we arrived we had a talk about shipwrecks and what maritime archaeologists do when they go diving and find objects underwater. Outside we learnt how to survey - off-setting and trilateration. After we got to see a mock-seabed that had real artefacts.
Thursday was our second dive day. This time we did the surveying UNDERWATER!! We also learnt how to plan (draw) underwater. It was very exciting because everything was new to us and we got to try something that we wouldn't normally be able to do. I enjoyed the experience a lot and when I had completed the tasks I felt very proud of myself and I would love to do it again.
Friday we are writing this blog and going to make a video pod cast - so check it out!

Day 1:
I wasn't here for day 1
Day 2:
On day two we learned the basics of Scuba Diving, things like safety under water manuvers and hand signals.
Day 3:
We went to Fort Cumberland which is a Napoleonic sea fort. When we went there we mostly learned how to map and record things on a shipwreck or any archaeological site. We learned Trilateration, Off-set and sketching.
Day 4:
We went Scuba Diving again but this time we had to record objects using the skills we had learned on day 3 but it was a lot harder under water.
Day 5:
On day five we wrote this blogg and had lots of fun showing off our pictures.

This week was very fun. We got to do scuba diving and we also got to go to a Napoleonic fort. The best bit was when we got to do a practice archaeological retrieval underwater.
On day one we got to go to the British museum and look at Sutton hoo.
On day two we got to go to the London school of diving and have an introductory course on how to work the scuba equipment. This included learning all the hand signals and learning the four skills. These included how to clear your mask, how to retrieve your regulator, and how to clear your regulator in two different ways. We also played underwater rocket, and underwater Frisbee. We went down to the bottom of the pool and learned how to hover, and how to make yourself go up and down with just your breathing. We also learned how to equalize and how to not pop your lungs open.
On day three we got to go to the Napoleonic fort called fort Cumberland, and we got to look at the remnants of a shipwreck that was called the HMS Victory that was washed up on the shore of Portsmouth, just meters away from the coast of Portsmouth, on which the fort Cumberland was located. On the coach journey back (we were very late) we played black jack, and I learned how to play cheat. The coach ride there was very tedious and we ended being very late there because the coach river got the wrong address and the journey took three and a half hours.
On Thursday we got to do a practiced archaeological retrieval. This includes measuring objects, drawing them, and writing down where they are located in a special manner. (Offset and trilateration.) We had to do all this under water. We did it in buddies and Randa was mine. It was very fun.
Today, day five we are making a movie and we are writing this blog. On of the children who is meant to be with us today is ill so that is very sad. We are all using strange accents to talk to each other in because it is fun, and Chiara's accent is very cool. She sounds very welsh, like that car advert for confused dot com.
